
Editor-in-Chief
Hijab Ahmed is an interdisciplinary writer from Metro-Detroit. She is an MFA candidate for poetry at The New School where she is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the literary journal, The Inquisitive Eater. As a writer, she is interested in experimental and decolonial methods of storytelling and the relationship between gender and genre. As a poet, she investigates her queered, racialized, and islamic modes of being. She is drawn to how poetry may be utilized as a tool of invention and perversion. Her favorite foods are chicken corn soup and mango achar (separately).

Managing Editor
Camilla Marchese González is a Guatemalan-Italian writer and filmmaker drawn to global storytelling, both narrative and nonfiction. Her work centers on character-driven stories told from unique and authentic perspectives. In her free time, she enjoys people-watching and going to the cinema to watch sad movies. Her writing has appeared in FilmPost, TropicalFRONT, and elsewhere. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at The New School.
Nonfiction Editors:

Afi Alexandra (it/its) is a writer and research fellow at the SexTech Lab. It is most interested in hybrid forms while deconstructing ideas like national identity, language, generational memory, grief, and consumption. It misses eating sambal terasi with every meal and hopes to one day reside in a house with a lemon tree in its back garden.

K-eye-ruh Assibey-Bonsu is a socio-cultural nerd, community urbanist, and lover of a good story, who delights in deep conversations with people about people and places that we hail from. Her career focus is on elevation of silenced narratives of Black and Brown people. Finding the cross-cultural connections are her forte and she has made a career of it through the mediums of audio, facilitation, and currently the written word. She cannot deny being a pop-culture fanatic and critiquing the world around her through humor.She is sex positive, a wannabe travel anthropologist and accidentally sporty. She is receiving her MFA in creative writing with a concentration in nonfiction from the New School and is stealthily branching out into performance, poetry, and fiction -she is comin’ runnin’ and she’ll never stop.

Sabrina Tenteromano is a writer and visual artist whose work explores identity and familial legacy, and the human condition. When she’s not writing, she enjoys cooking, hiking, training her heart through Tibetan Buddhist practices and her body through strength conditioning. She’s a first year student in the MFA Nonfiction Creative Writing program at The New School and works as the creative communications strategist and designer at Civitella Ranieri, a multidisciplinary artist residency program in Italy.
Fiction Editors:

Matthew Kane is a Fiction Editor at The Inquisitive Eater. He’s originally from Seattle, Washington and is currently a first-year student in the Creative Writing MFA program at The New School in New York City.

Isabel Piazza Risi was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She lives in Brooklyn after immigrating for college and is now pursuing an MFA at The New School. She spends her time complaining about being covered in cat hair and snuggling with her always-shedding cat, Wispa.

Mal Ward (she/her) is a Kentucky-bred, Brooklyn-based fiction writer and poet whose work explores complicated family dynamics and how place and memory intertwine in shaping the human soul. She credits her curiosity—and her ability to handle rejection—to her BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Western Kentucky University. When she’s not writing or reading on the F train, Mal leads software trainings and writes scripts for educational videos. She also coaches with Run4Fun, mentors for Team for Kids, and serves as a theatre manager for the Sundance Film Festival.
Poetry Editors:

Grace Dignazio is a Brooklyn-based writer interested in the subversive possibilities of digital technologies as a medium for poetics. Her work engages with a lineage of writers attuned to the precariousness of identity and the entanglements of language and ecology in the shadow of a slow apocalypse. She studies Poetry at The New School, where she works as a research assistant and reader for LIT Magazine.

Grace Downer is a MFA Creative Writing student with a concentration in poetry at The New School. She enjoys writing about childhood, queerness, and womanhood.

Lana Meh is a Slovenian poet based in Brooklyn. She writes about love, displacement, and the many disguises of vulnerability. She’s an MFA candidate in Creative Writing and a poetry editor at Inquisitive Eater. She’s passionate about ditching perfection and just winging it. Her poems are scrappy, sad, and a little funny–kind of like her.

Nandini Sharma is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer from Delhi, India. Currently, she’s a Fiction candidate at The New School. Her research interests include the speculative, contemporary politics and culture. Her alter ego can be found on @cabbageprint.

Art Editor:
Ashley Leone (she/they) is a writer, visual artist, and the menu designer, chef, and host of the LP Supper Club. She travels to eat, creates recipes, and has illustrated an unpublished family cookbook. Ash is a Creative Writing MFA student at The New School, working on a first novel. A born and bred Brooklynite, they still live there with their husband and dog, Landry.

Social Media Manager:
Nia Calloway (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and astrologer who blends theatre, poetry, music, and dance on and off-stage. Driven by the desire to relate the natural world and the cosmos to our bodies, Nia’s art serves to reorient our stories around Black femme bodies, planet Earth, and collective healing. Nia has featured her work at The Bowery Poetry Club, Berlin Poetry Festival, Berlin Spoken Word, Write About Now, The Nuyorican, The Bitter End, The Sultan Room, and PAC NYC. Nia has had her play HOMEBODY produced by Judson Memorial Church and HERE Arts and her other play Earth is Not One of Your Lil Friends produced at JACK and Center for Performance Research with The Bushwick Starr. She is the Social Media Manager for The Inquisitive Eater.
