The contemplation of the sublime reveals the human sensitivity to perceiving and appreciating the aesthetic beauty that surrounds us-both within our inner selves and in the external world of our human experience.

It is challenging to articulate a feeling of ardor or pleasure when discussing the simple aesthetic appreciation of the beauty of our suffering, as it encompasses our experiences in this ever-changing realm we internalize as reality.

We take this field of accumulated experiences or actions and reveal them through the lens we call “culture”.

The word sublime has always been controversial.

From classical discussions to contemporary debates, it has been argued that the sublime is not an inherent part of being human but rather something that defines us: the ability to appreciate and contemplate our existence in an environment outside ourselves – an environment that can be infinitely beautiful and complex, without necessarily requiring explanation. It simply is.

We limit ourselves to “sublimating,” driven by the analytical need to conclude that something is beautiful, ugly, pleasant, or painful. We force ourselves to believe that the preexistence of appreciating something is tied to our capacity for critical thought. We admire it and consider it the greatest advantage of being human.

We admire it as the greatest differentiator between ourselves and apes. We become beautiful, not sublime, in every sense of the word. I have always admired the sublime in my experience, and as if playing a prank.I try to incorporate a part of myself into an image so aesthetically pleasing and perfect.

Perhaps it is an attempt to understand my own sad beauty through sublime, to comprehend it within the immersion of something larger, something grander than myself. Relating to ideas that do not necessarily fit within our human understanding pushes our inner selves to experience that sharpness, vivacity, and urgency to manifest within something external to us. To conquer what stubbornly draws us to admire what we consider ours or beautiful, and to explain our inner selves through vastness of the external world, within the immersion of the sublime.
