– Win Julia Child Gift Package! Biographile is hosting a short memoir contest:
“What’s Your Funniest Kitchen Catastrophe?”
We love Julia for her determination to keep it real and enjoy herself in the kitchen, even when disaster struck in the form of dropping a potato pancake mid-flip on television, as depicted by Meryl Streep in “Julie & Julia,” the 2009 film inspired by Julie Powell’s memoir by the same name. Even when the going got tough, Julia forged ahead, proving that perfection doesn’t always start as such. So go ahead — and tell us about your own kitchen catastrophe.
All five finalists in our contest will receive a copy of Bob Spitz’s comprehensive biography “Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child,” published today by Random House.
The People’s Choice Winner will receive:
- “Mastering the Art of French Cooking Boxed Set“
- “My Life in France“
- “Julia’s Kitchen Wisdom“
- and, for both little chefs-in-training and those in the kitchen who are simply young at heart, the children’s book “Bon Appetit!: The Delicious Life of Julia Child“
The rules are simple (see link below for more detail): Submit your short essay (no more than 750 words) by cutting-and-pasting it into the entry form (link also below), along with your name and email address.
